From time to time we will add to this list, but you have simply to type keywords such as TOPIX DEFAMATION, TOPIX BULLYING, STOP TOPIX or DELETE TOPIX POST into GOOGLE to see how many websites are commenting on the problem. This list is a very small representative sample.

The Most Dangerous Site on the Net breathittonline.com/blog/2010/02/12/the-most-dangerous-site-on-the-internet-topix/I was glad to find this site which not only clearly discusses the damage that TOPIX is doing, it shows groups of people who are banding together a bit to try to put pressure on the government and TOPIX. It is Kentucky based, so I'm not sure if that will help everyone but it is a step in the right direction and a good site to bookmark and link to.

Texas Couple Sues to get IP Addresses from Topix abcnews.go.com/Technology/story?id=8239410&page=1I guess if you have money and you are a lawyer then you cant sue TOPIX but you can find out who defamed you. So, wealthy lawyers, you might be safe if you want to spend a decade going after TOPIX.

New Texas Law Against Cyberbullying mikeyounglaw.com/internet-lawyer/online-harassment-texas-internet-law/But will it make a difference with TOPIX? We'll see. Texas tends to enact laws that are hard to enforce but it may just be that crimes committed in violation of the law on TOPIX will force subpoenas and we'll just see how the boys in Palo Alto enjoy regular visits from Texas based law enforcement. Could be interesting.

Amazing that so many websites exist just speaking of the toils of getting posts removed. However, it erroneously states that you CAN get your name removed if you pay. That was just for priority REVIEW. Many comments never came down, pay or no pay.

Man Wins Lawsuit Against Topix Poster tinyurl.com/4qqb9y3A man in Georgia successfully sued an anonymous poster who lied about him on Topix for $400,000. Topix responded to the subpoena because they didn't have a choice. Will this set a precedent to execute more lawsuits? We can only hope.

What the article seems to miss is that the fact that registering for a website does not need to mean that your information is posted online. It should simply mean that the website has your contact information, behind the scenes if appropriate.

Topix Alexa Ranking Page www.alexa.com/siteinfo/topix.comAlexa ranks websites as well as tracking web search information. The Alexa page for Topix underscores the fact that Topix seems to be the place that people go for defamation and smut, with very few searches being about legitimate news.
